Panchagarh Sadar upazila on the north, Thakurgaon Sadar and Debiganj upazilas on the south, Debiganj upazila on the east, atwari and Panchagarh upazilas on the west.

Boda thana was established in 1883. It was included in Thakurgaon subdivision of Dinajpur district after the partition of India in 1947 and was included in Panchagarh district in 1984. It consists of 10 union parishads, 174 mouzas and 235 villages.
